Going Home

Yesterday, as we flew into Guatemala, the plane broke through the clouds and we could finally see the city.  There was a man behind me bringing his son to Guatemala for the first time.  When the city came into view, he said,"Look its Guatemala!"  Then, his eyes filled with tears and his voice broke.  "My home", he said with a choked voice.  Even though he has lived many years in New York, Guatemala was his home.  This is where his heart is...
I think that will be what it is like when we see heaven.  We will say with tears in our eyes and a choked voice, "My home."  We won't be thinking about what we left behind, or wishing we were still there.  Instead, with joyful tears and overwhelmed voices, we will be home...standing face to face with our savior.   This life will be a distant memory and all that will matter will be the One who made us and loved us.  What a day that will be !
